Logistics IQ In today's market, it is imperative for 3PL companies to do more to service their clients. Offering low cost traditional 3PL services such as transportation, warehousing, and customs clearance is only the beginning to achieve satisfaction from the customer. 3PL companies need to strive to move their relationship with their customers from conventional customer-supplier relationships to a true partnership. Being proactive by monitoring and measuring a customer's logistics business and acting on the intelligence received from that information can move a 3PL company towards that partnership state.
In a study conducted by Cap Gemini in 2006, 92% of the respondents surveyed agreed that Information Technology services are a necessary element of overall 3PL provider expertise. Within those technology service offerings, tools that provide visibility necessary for strategic and tactical decision making ranked high on the list of 3PL requirements.

To help with the growing demand for information from 3PL customers, Information IQ is introducing a Logistics IQ Business Intelligence Application for third party logistics companies. The model is built on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services with the intent to model the primary key performance indicators that are important in adding value to the relationship with 3PL customers. Since each 3PL provider is different, the model does not encompass all key performance indicators a 3PL provider would need. Our 3PL model focuses on the transportation management segment of a 3PL's service offering. It encompasses a variety of key performance indicators and can be customized to meet your needs.
